Ho’oluana Housing Project in Hanamaulu
As many people already know, there is a new housing development project currently under construction and make headway in the Hanamaulu community. The Project is called Ho’oluana at Kohea Loa. This project is broken down into two categories for purchase:
Market Priced Homes & Affordable Homes
Market Priced Homes:
Market priced homes are priced based on the current Real Estate Market. Buyers are prioritized by a “Lottery Process.” Furthermore, the lottery process is categorized into two groups being Group A, and Group B.
Group A Buyers shall be non-homeowners, full time Kauai residents, and will need to complete the Group A application and requirements.
Group B Buyers are anyone currently owning a home in the United States, also will need to complete the Group B application and requirements.
A completion of paperwork, application, requirements, and a pre-qualification letter from DHI Mortgage will qualify buyers to participate in the lottery process. Most homes are completed within 6 months of the release of each lottery process.
Affordable Homes:
As for the Affordable Homes, The County of Kauai has specific requirements to qualify into this program. This is not done through a lottery process. Once the County provides qualified buyer with a certificate of completion of requirements, buyers will have an inventory of homes to choose from.

Get Pre-qualified
Once you have seen the homes, the best next step in the process would be to have buyers get pre-qualified through DHI Mortgage. Please see the contact information below for the pre-qualification process and loan programs offered. The pre-qualification process will determine if a Market Home or an Affordable Home is more appropriate for a prospect buyer.
