Kealia town is most famous for it’s beach, Kealia beach is a favorite among locals and tourists. On the north end of this sand bottom beach it is sheltered and protected. The rest of Kealia beach usually has a variety of waves for surfing. Kealia Beach has facilities and a lifeguard. On the boarder of Kealia beach runs the 4-mile Kapaa to Kealia Bike Path. It is well used by joggers, walkers and bicycle enthusiast. Up from the bike path, are the Kealia Kai Estates. These are large acreage estates of vacant land and luxury homes. Kealia town now only has a post office a food truck or two and a rodeo arena. But it is walking distance to the larger town of Kapaa. Besides the gentleman estates of Kealia Kai there are 2 subdivisions of smaller homes in Kealia. One of the subdivisions is “makai” or on the ocean side of Kuhio Highway and the other is “mauka” or mountain side of the highway. Occasionally homes will be available for sale in these older established neighborhoods. Kealia is a beach community where the real estate is about the beach rather then the status of the area. Therefore, per square footage, Kealia has beachfront bargains compared to other areas on the island of Kauai.
