Commentary:
To discourage squatters from turning on the water from vacant homes the Department of Water on Kauai is requiring proof of ownership along with the water application. I think the is great, except when it’s a bank REO. It recently has been difficult. The Kauai Department of Water wants the driver’s license of the owner. Are they really expecting the CEO of Wells Fargo Bank to produce their license so I can get the water turned on? HELP!
As the courts have reopened there has been more foreclosure activity. This activity is all from pre-pandemic foreclosures. Foreclosures due to the pandemic will most likely take years to get through the foreclosure process. Stay safe everyone.
