As I don’t see the owners or their children on island anymore I can only assume that they tried renting it out and that didn’t work out. 1. Lau Nahele St, Koloa. Lot 22 Kukui’ula Subdivision. The lowest priced vacant lot in Kukui’ula.! This homesite in the Kaulu Neighborhood of Kukui’ula and borders a greenbelt with a small babbling stream & waterfall . $555,900. MLS# 643222. Owned by BMO Harris Bank. Title clean up is delaying the closing. Sold for $525,000 cash.
2. 5176 Alli Rd, Hanapepe. 2 bedroom 2 bath home. $446,500. Owned by Wells Fargo. MLS#647412. Sold for $475,000 cash on 3/29/2021.

Current state of Kauai REO :

Today, March 31, 2021, I went to a foreclosure auction with every intention to bid. I saw my friend Eric, a process server, (man bun and grey shirt)  and knew he was there with the banks bid. I got a little bit excited when he showed me it was only $395,080. I had my top bid at 400K. But there were 2 other bidders. I quietly showed my cashiers check to Bob Grimpas the foreclosure commissioner as required prior to bidding. One of the other bidders, the construction worker, verbalized how much his cashiers checks were, 40K, and therefore his max bid, coincidentally the same as mine, $400,000. The 3rd bidder verbalized his required deposit as 50K. Watch the video to see what happened.

There was also another foreclosure sale at the same time. It was an Emmalani Court unit 511 that the bank credit bid at $720,000. This Princeville condo, will most likely turn into a Kauai REO and listed on the MLS for Kauai.
