COMMENTARY:
Kauai Foreclosure numbers:
According to the Kauai MLS there were only 8 closed REO sales from 1/1/2022 to 10/31/2022.
According to the Kauai MLS there were only 10 closed REO sales from 1/1/2021 to 10/31/2021.
Compared to 2011 & 2012 (a decade ago):
According to the Kauai MLS there were 144 closed REO sales from 1/1/2011 to 10/31/2011.
According to the Kauai MLS there were 77 closed REO sales from 1/1/2012 to 10/31/2012.
End of the year figures will be published in January 2023.
For 2023 I do not see Kauai having any huge rise in foreclosures. However there will be a steady amount, primarily due to death of the mortgagor.
