Editorial:

I always get excited when I get a new Kauai REO assignment. Especially when it’s a million dollar plus property. When I get a new assignment and it’s still occupied I just drive by, stop, and take a few photos of the exterior of the property. So late September when I received a new assignment for a million dollar plus home I was excited and stopped across the street where coincidentally another property was for sale. I parked near that sign and proceeded to take photos a distance from the subject house. Around 50 yards or so. The occupant/former owner saw me taking pictures, walked outside and asked if I was interested in the property across the street. I told him “no” I was there to take pictures of his property. Awkward. He was not aware that they held the foreclosure auction yet as it had been delayed a few times. He also told me his attorney was Gary Dubin. Well usually when I hear the name of Gary Dubin I realize the selling of he house will be held up for 2-3 years or more. But Gary Dubin was recently disbarred.

He does have other lawyers in his firm and if you read the article he is appealing. It will be interesting to see how it pans out. In the past his law firm has been one of the only firms to take on the big banks.
