The most expensive homes on Kauai usually have a great location and view, are built with quality construction and design, and have a large land area and/or preferred land use and zoning. Which one is the best is subjective to which one is the best for you. The one at Anini Vista has the most living area square footage, 10K plus! The one at Pe’e Road is ocean front in the heart of Poipu. The house on Kamookoa Road aka Silverfarms Ranch has a horse ranch of 237.70 acres. My favorite is Kapoli Street in Kealia Kai. But I’m bias because I live on the east side and the beaches are my favorite. You can walk down to the walking path from this property and walk to variety of beaches from there. However, if I was buying a vacation home, it might just be one of houses on Weke Road in the heart of Hanalei right across from the bay. As I already have a home on Kauai’s east side. It is interesting to note that all these higher end homes are not zoned for vacation rentals. These homes would be a personal residence or a Kauai dream vacation retreat.
