Commentary:
There’s a few more foreclosures at the courthouse coming up. One of the most common reasons a house is foreclosed on is because the mortgage is a reverse mortgage. After the homeowner passes away often the heirs do not instigate probate. If there’s no or little equity in the home, that is a smart move to let it go to foreclosure. If there still is equity left the heirs can have a probate proceeding and recoup any equity.
