Waimea & Kekaha

Waimea and Kekaha, located on the far West Side of Kauai, are historic plantation towns now known for their sunny climate, rural charm, and proximity to some of the island’s most stunning natural attractions. Kekaha is home to Kikiaola Small Boat Harbor, Kekaha Elementary School, and St. Theresa School, with Polihale State Park just to the west. East of Kekaha, Waimea offers more services, including grocery stores, medical offices, and Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital. The town hosts the annual Waimea Town Celebration and serves as the gateway to Waimea Canyon—the “Grand Canyon of the Pacific”—and Kokee State Park, where cool forest trails await. Real estate in both communities consists mainly of single-family homes and occasional vacant lots, with just one condo project in Waimea. Residents value the area’s dry, mild weather, relaxed pace, and breathtaking sunsets over the Pacific.
