Hanapepe town is a throw back to a past era. The old style architecture and buildings are treasured in Hanapepe town. Art Night is celebrated in Hanapepe every Friday night. The Kauai Veteran’s Cemetery is located in Hanapepe. Every Memorial Day & Veterans’ Day Kauai’s deceased Veterans are honored there. Salt Pond Beach Park is located in Hanapepe. Besides picnic facilities and a place to swim, you will find residents practicing the art of making Hawaiian Sea Salt. Glass Beach is also located in Hanapepe. This beach is known for “sea glass” sand. Port Allen Harbor & Port Allen Airport are located in Hanapepe. The airport is currently used for scenic helicopter tours, ultra-light aircraft traffic and skydiving. The harbor is mainly used for tour boat launchings and recreational use.
