With Kauai’s market still appreciating sometimes it can be hard to find a good deal. But buying a REO is one way to do that. The trade off is that an REO home or condo will most likely need work. Many buyers do not have the time or skill set to turn a fixer-upper into a livable home. If there is a REO home that is in great condition most likely it will receive multiple offers if it is priced well, unless you are priced at 4.2 million then it may take a little longer.  I still have 17 REO’s in my queue. They are either in pre-listing stages or eviction stages.
