COMMENTARY:
Did you see the Netflix movie The Big Short?. What an entertaining explanation of the economy crash of 2008. These days most foreclosures are due to death, divorce and other personal financial reasons. I think reverse mortgages are a great income vehicle for seniors. However after the death of a homeowner, the bank wants its money back. Often there is no probate. So the mortgage lender needs to foreclose to get their money back. I think now on Kauai this is the number 1 reason for foreclosure.
